Originating in the Columbia Icefields and passing through Alberta all the way to Lake Athabasca. This river passes through some incredible changes in Canadian landscape. Historically it was largely used by first nations in Alberta for hunting and fishing, and used later as a major trade route in the province.

This is one of our personal favorite coffees. It is absolutely a unique variety that showcases low or no acidity, natural sweetness, earthy/chocolate tones. Its the perfect weekend coffee and balances well for those who do not like acidity. Roasted just until it reaches a dark roast for a delicate balance of roast character and origin flavor.

Interesting flavor and consistency...

This is an excellent coffee, and I'm only giving it 4 stars because I've had better... your Mt. Robson and Wilmore. Has an interesting earthy flavor that isn't totally to my tastes, but still makes this coffee head and shoulders above most others. When I read the above description, I do note now that the big thing that makes this different-tasting is the lack of acidity. I don't like too much acidity in my coffee, but I do like a little.

When doing a pour-over, this coffee takes on a strange consistency, absorbing all the water and becoming really "fluffy", which I found strange and interesting as well.

I land pretty far into the dark roast camp. This was a great med-dark roast. I am currently working on the Ethiopia Limu that is a great dark roast option.
